I think it makes a great one! Here's my M90 .308 with Ironwood stock set.

 

That is exactly the look I am wanting to get. I have not decided if I want to go .308 or 7.62x39.

where did you find the stock? Is there a place you can order them like that or did you just get lucky and come across one?

Real tabuk style sniper would be in 7.62 and an m70 kit would be the starting point.Tabuk snipers are stamped receiver . Or you can buy any yugo fixed stock AK and stick a tabuk butstock on it and call it done like the M90 in 308. But it wont be much of a clone for the real thing

 

I guess I will try to go with the M70 kit. While I may not get the engravings on the rifle I would like it (from a distance) to look like the tabuk sniper. I think that is one very good looking firearm.

Any ideas which barrel would be best to use for a Tabuk Sniper build?

 

Cope's was selling the Tabuk barrel. I think they may be planning a second run. It's a US made replica.

While I have about 6 AKs and have always loved them I have pretty much left them the way they came.
