There was also a .38 super barrel available and I recall seeing importer had a package with the pistol and 9mm and .38 super barrel all in one package or it may have been the kit with just the two extra barrels. Anyways I did pick up a .38 super barrel years ago but have not got around to trying it out yet.
.38 special would be fun to try, would be great to have 3 different barrels to play with....I am fairly new to Tokarev's but are quickly becoming a favorite of mine, have 2 Chinese Type 54s and a Yugo M57....will pick up another soon as prices here in Canada are still low and don't require the awful added safeties.

Got to the range last night, the conversation kit was flawless....the Tokarev ate up all the 9mm ammo no problems, the 2 magazines with the spacers worked perfectly as did the original mags made for 7.62x25 all in all very pleased with the kit, next week will try the kit in my Zastava M57 see how that goes.

I have a Norinco Mod. 213 in 9mm and a Yogo M57 in 7.62x25mm . I was curious and installed the 9mm barrel and recoil spring from the Norinco into the M57. I loaded the M 57 mag. with 9mm ammo (no spacer no nothing) and put the mag. in the grip of the M57. I racked the M57 slide and chambered a round, pointed the pistol down range and fired away with the full mag. All rounds fired with no malfunctions. I removed the 9mm barrel and recoil spring from the M57 and installed it back into the Norinco, satisfied that all worked well.
Since the Norinco pistols most likely will never be imported again, I'll keep the Norinco Mod. 213 in its original condition and likely never fire it again. I might swap barrels and recoil spring again but never fire the 213 as it is now.

wait so the 9mm barrels for the Type 54's fit in the M57?

That's pretty big news, I never even considered trying those in my M57 because I thought the captive recoil spring of the M57 prevented interchangeability with parts from other tokarevs

bright ----- I didn't say "Type 54". I said I took the barrel and recoil spring from a 9mm Chinese Norinco Mod. 213 and installed them into my Yugo M 57 pistol. Everything worked just fine and there was no malfunctions at all firing 9mm ammo in the M57 pistol. Thanks for looking and asking the question.

I took the 9mm barrel from the kit I bought for my Tokarev and put it in my Zastava M57, hope to get to the range tomorrow night, I will use the M-57 magazine, hopefully it works as well as it did in my type 54.

I have all three barrels and springs
The 38 super being a stout cartridge the kit came with a stout spring
Works great
I urge any who have the 38 super barrel to get an appropriate stout spring
Great power

Prof ---- If you might install the 9mm recoil spring with the 9mm barrel in your pistol you should get a more positive ejection when firing 9mm ammo in your piece. I've always used the 7.6 mm mag. with 9mm ammo too with no problem.

Partial update....received the 9mm kit today, everything fit perfectly gun locks up nice and tight, kit came with a chrome barrel and 2 magazines, mags also have the short extended floor plates with pinky grip seems much more comfortable with the short grip that Tokarev's have...just have to wait till my club opens next week....closed to due to covid semi lockdown...
so did the converted barrel ever work? Also, would there be a way to have this shipped to the united states?
