Hello,
I was told this was the place to make inquiries on SKS rifles. I have two, a Russian with no date or markings on the bolt cover but a 1954 date in like new condition. I have another Chinese one traded to me many years ago by a fellow who said he brought it back from Vietnam. This was before all the cheap ones came in. Ballpark values are appreciated.
tks

Without good photos and a detailed description it’s simply impossible to provide you with a reliable valuation. The membership will be glad to help you if you give us more.

And welcome to the forum!

Fudd ------ Yes photos would be the only way anyone in this forum might provide you with a realistic estimated value of your SKS's today. I have two Russian SKS rifles both dated 1952 in very good condition, all numbers match on each and both with blade bayonets. Several years ago I paid about $125 apiece for them. In today's crazy market I think roughly 4 to 5 times that amount might be a fair estimate. It is crazy I know but that just my idea.

Definitely post pics, we can't tell you anything specific without them.

I paid $800 for a Soviet SKS made in 1957 earlier this year. Had mixed feelings about spending that much on it but it was exactly what I wanted so I didn't mind paying for it. Was even a little glad to not spend over 1k for it.

I wouldn't sell my nice 1952 refurb for less than $800.00.

Those could be anywhere between $175 and $800. All depends on if they were re-arsenaled, have stamped matching numbers, force matched numbers, non-matching numbers, have been refinished or repaired, how the bores look, modified, import marked (especially on the Chinese), etc. Way too many variables to determine even a ball park.

As previously stated pics are a must. I’m selling three sks’ on here right now in WTS and I think I have at least 20 pics of each rifle, and every numbered part documented. If you provide those kind of pics you’ll get very detailed and helpful information back from the fantastic members on here and a good estimated value.

Welcome and good luck!
