Hey gang,

Last month, in addition to photographing my latest acquisitions, I took the time to document my collection again. Rather than photographing it as a single, disorganized collection, as I did last year, I chose to photograph them in categories, explicitly showcasing one bayonet type per category.

I am not looking for tips on how to improve this; I know it can be better, and I only had one really solid place that provided an adequate source of light. I will probably redo this again in the future, trying other things out. Until then, I am happy with how these turned out.

I will share two other collections in due time. For now, here are the sword bayonets.

Please feel free to share your own photographed collections! Enjoy!

I see some very nice displays and some rather ingenious methods of incorporating scabbards and frogs.
May I assume that in addition to the displays, each individual specimen is also catalogued and described complete with photos and recorded details?
That is a lot of work.

My father detailed everything he collected. I inherited tubs of paperwork from the pre digital ages. I barely scratched the surface and my son will likely toss it when it’s his turn to store it.

As tradesmen, we both loathe spreadsheets.
