Dear all,

I just bought a nice Black window P08 Luger Byf 42- matching number - VGC - full black bakelite - with its nice "fxo" magazine from Haenel if my memory is right..
But the serial number is a bit mysterious to me.
It is a "N" block with number "1368" -
For me, but surely I'm wrong, the last block for Mauser in 1942 was block letter "M" not "N"... and was attributed to the last Mauser made sold to Portugal in 1942. This one is definitely N.
What is this one ? a Bulgarian or Portuguese one still ?
I join some pictures of the marking. For me nothing different from the usual suspect : a classical "German Army " ...
Maybe one of you could tell me more about my finding
Nice day to all.
D

a980 ----- You have beautiful byf 42 luger. My byf 42 was produced in the "k" block and has the walnut grip panels. It is in very much the same condition as yours with all matching serial numbers except for the two mags. that came with it. The holster is stamped "gxy 42" and is in very good condition as well. Take good care of your byf 42 "black widow" luger and it will appreciate much like property is doing today.
