I only collect Mosin-Nagants. Since about a third of my Mosins are carbines, the date is skewed a bit to youth. My oldest is 1895 and newest is 1955. The average date of mfg. is 1939.06 or 74 years old, which is slightly older than the corn on my little toe.

The average age for my Mosins is 75 years old.
For the rest of my guns, its 42 years, the youngest being a Glock that I bought in Feb.

From my 1869 dated 1866-74, to my Sig 556, and all in between, being mostly a WWI guy, about 80-90 years.

With the exception of one modern rifle and one modern pistol, the youngest gun is a 1942 Longbranch.

My recent foray into mosin territory has brought the average age down... At least until the refurbed 1897 comes home from layaway.

To calculate the average age would require an abacus, several calculators and a half dozen CPA's??? The oldest rifle dates to 1854 and the latest stops at 1919. Simply splitting the difference and rounding up brings us to 126 years.

1942 late July is the gross average 70.33 yr.

The M1866 from 1871, 1905' H&R revolver , 1916 M12 Win and Mauser ,model 19 Stevens 12 gauge, and 3 from the 30's bring the avrage age down to make up for the 2 made in this decade and 3 more 1995 or later. The vast majority hale from the 60s and 70s.

An old thread resurrected! Well oldest is 1884 Sestroryetsk Berdan II, up to a 1944 Tula M44 on the Russian side. 1960 T53. Would have to check my list. Many old M91s, but some WWI dated Remingtons and PTG M91s and 1895 Winchester will bring the average to I'd guess closer to 90 years.
