I bit for the Yugo m76 once again .I had 3 non working POS ones a few Years ago when they cost alot more than now . Do a search and youl pull up all the problems I had and never got a working rifle . Well since the J&G sale on them .I couldnt resist and sold off some others riskily and bought another .I realy expected to get hosed but prayed not to .
This is what I got .The receiver is well machined and IS NOT a Ohio rapid fire peice of junk. All info is marked on bottom of receiver as well. The rifle is fully refinished in either black paint or Matte blue .I have to mess with a hidden spot to figure exactly wich finish . It has no matching parts as do other century Yugo's with new USA barrels . The wood stock was real very nice and all matched in color . The scope mount had been refinished as well .The scope appears to have not been used hardly at all . The orange paint on the radiation symbol being perfet as well as the rest of the scopes finish . Rivets on the trigger guard and the rivet for the feed ramp are well done with nice heads . No cant on the sight blocks . The flash supressor is permanently attached and looks brazed .So removing it is not an option . The receiver is cut to accomidate a double hook fire control group but has a Tapco single hook G2 installed wich I prefer for this kind of rifle . I will polish the contact surfaces for a better let off.
Ammo problems ? None I could find . I tried 4 types of ammo all sucessfully . Yugo 50's manufacture (52 to be exact) . Romanian light ball. 1940"s Turk . Dynamit post war late 40's . It ate it all without a single problem except one turk round with an extremly deep set primer? I didnt shoot for accuracy for a few reasons reasons . A very strong gusty headwind .Very cold weather and I failed to clean the mag interior wich the small ammount of cosmoline and a large glob turned to concrete in the cold . I had to heat the mag on my cars manifold to get it up again . And the scope is not level on the rifle and needs to be rotated to level the recticle with the rifle properly . Mag held bolt open on last round but the bolt hits it hard enough to bugger it into a 45 degree angle .This is a typical yugo m76 design problem as expected this practicaly always happens. Rifle came with one mag ,3 peice cleaning rod ,tube style cleaning kit ,old nasty rope pull through .Correct 4 mag pouch , correct sling .And correct scope cover. There also was a rubber scope eye peice but as usual its badly formed from being stored squished slightly wich renders it useless.

I think the most recent receivers are sold by Wise Lite.
Vladimir, sounds like you finally got a good rifle. Great:)
I have worked with several M76 rifles on ORF receivers.
Common issues are the use of a AKM bullet guide vs an original M76 guide. These are shorter and shallower and create a situation where the bullet nose strikes the rear of the chamber face. Riveting a a shim overlay in the guide area can be a resolution.
Also on some the spacer plate on the trigger guard needs to be thinned to allow the mag to seat deeper in the receiver.
On some rifles the front of the receiver on the right where the bolt carrier cycles close is not cut at a sharp enough angle. This causes the carrier to stop short or bind upon closing and it sticks and lifts on the rails.
All fixable items.., but unless you have the tools, skills and time it can be a real hassle.
According to some source material I have received recently there will be another run of M76 kits or firearms on the market in the coming months.
The funky bolt hold open on these rifles is definitely a design flaw from the factory. Sometimes when the follower tips forward it bulges the magazine body and makes it very difficult to remove from the receiver. Perhaps a fix by a fellow on AKFORUM may be forthcoming. Dunno.

Vladimir..., did you get the Soviet style scope cover or the Yugo cover with the cleaning rod and maintenance kit pockets with tools and leather trim. These are kinda nice.

Soviet style cover .I never saw one like yours . I want one ! Seen any available? I didnt get the little brush but did get the tool as well as a butstock cleaning kit of some european design . My receiver has no manufacturers markings other than century. I did tell J&G if they sent me anything with ORF's name on it I would send it immediatly back . I have an ORF receiver for the m70 .it has the wandering headspace problem as well as a deformation of the extractor . I know exactly what your dealing with Ken .

I have tried hot water and stuffing the inside of a misshapen eyepiece with some success. But you might just have to buy a new POSP style if you really want the eyepiece. Part of the scope package but I seldom use them.
The Yugoslavian pattern scope covers are pretty scarce and only came on a few of the M76 scope packages from what I have seen. There is a pocket along the top for the 3 piece cleaning rod and a pocket along the side for the cleaning cloth, sight tool and a 3mm allen wrench not in the pic. I got a few in that style and if I see another I'll let you know. The M76 scopes fit several rails and are nice optics.

I only use them on real sunny days if my shooting spot is in the sun . otherwise I do without them . I would just love to salvage it instead of it hitting the trash can .

Glad you finally got one that works Vlad. Thats the next one on my want list after I get my mlled M70 done ;) Congrats :D
Thanks .just make sure you know what receiver is on it . I just knew in my heart that an Ak varrient should not be so horrible functioning and ammo finicky . Great job, to the new maker of receivers for this rifle .

I could fix them too. But at the 1600.00 I paid ,I shouldnt have to fix it .Now if I was to fix it and century receive and pay the bill I sent .Then I would have fixed all 3 of them :). Orif they sold it to me as a 200.00 dollar You -fix-em . I would highly suggest against anyone paying 1600.00 dollars for a non working tinkering project .
