Just scored this 1891 Argentine Mauser…one of 7 examples I own. Got it for WAY cheap, $350. Curious what ya’ll think on Argentine mausers….it was my first rifle back in 23’ and I’ve slowly collected my way up to having the full range of minor changes to the standard pattern of this rifle.

I bought one in 1963 that had never been issued. Beautiful wood and fine finish. Accurate too. Was stolen 1n 1973 from my parents house while I was overseas. Still have the dies and a 311299 mold.

It looks nice, but better pictures would help. I picked mine up about 20 years ago for $200. Matching and scrubbed crest with minty wood & metal. When I plugged that figure into the CPI Inflation Calculator, that $200 is worth about $350 today, or about the same price you paid for yours. So I don't think these have really appreciated much in value beyond keeping up with inflation, but they are really great examples of late 19th century German craftsmanship.

This one looks good an a for a good price. I have two; one with crest and one without. One is a Loewe and the other is a DWM. I paid $147 for both BUT the seller was my brother in law so I got the "family" rate. They have been put on the "never sell list" because they have to go back to family (part of the deal).

One of the most elegant and accurate Mausers ever made.

The first gun I ever bought at a gunshow was a 91 Argentine. It looked like "new" and had been priced at $120. But it was Sunday afternoon and the seller said he would take $60. So it went home with me this was sometime in the 70s I am not sure anymore than that.
