Thanks. I assume then that's the little "77" under the serial number? Any idea of which model this is? Is it an L, LS, M... X Y P D Q? And what would this thing even be worth in today's market?

 

Is probably declared there on barell? Grand Rapids Ml. look at hunting area,b,.r.Andy

 

Cannot find it anywhere on barrel. Similar models say it on the receiver where this one says "Mannlicher." That's why I'm having a hard time identifying this thing.

 

On picture 4 in front of backsights is it above the wood line, under backside is the caliber .30-06 Spr. Should be moved to hunting area on this forum, as there are experts on similar pieces. b.r.Andy

 

Nope, nothing there. But I've been able to do some better digging now that I have the year of manufacture (thanks for that!) and I can determine from looking at similar models from 1976-79 that this is a "Model M." It's interesting that for some reason in at least 1977 (maybe also 1978) they did not put the model letter on the receiver (or barrel) like others previously and post.

And noted about the hunting section. Thanks for all the help!
