FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN A CENTURY VSKA AND A LITTLE IMPRESSED. I SWORE I'D NEVER BUY A CENTURY ARMS BECAUSE OF THEIR BAD REPUTATION AFTER THEIR RAZ-47 DEBACLE. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THEY MADE A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS WITH THEIR VARIOUS VSKA MODELS. THEY NOW USE S7 TOOL STEEL FOR MOST ALL THE PARTS. FOUR YEARS AGO MILITARY ARMS CHANNEL TORE THEM UP IN A REVIEW OF THE VSKA AND CENTURY LISTENED AND MADE CHANGES. SINCE THEN THEY'VE HAD GREAT REVIEWS.

THESE ARE THE CHANGES I'VE MADE TO MAKE IT LOOK "COOLER!" I CHANGED THE FLASH SUPPRESSOR, NEW RIBBED ACTION COVER AND YUGO PISTOL GRIP. HOPE TO GET TO THE RANGE THIS WEEK AND GIVE IT A TRY!

Oh I like your idea of the Uncle Mike's stud. Think that's what I'll do with mine. Thanks for the idea. I ordered a barrel clamp with 5 pictinney/weaver slots to mount between the gas block and handguard retainer so I can put my bipod, lazer, flashlight or QD sling mounts. It's starting to be kind of Frankensteinish! LoL

My butt stock leaves much desired, for me anyway, because at the lowest setting of 100 meters I can't get a proper sight alignment. The new stocks' comb was cut down lower. I plan on putting the modified wood stock on as pictured. Would have already done it but it's really stuck on the receiver. Will wrap stock with a towel and hit with rubber mallet trying not to damage the wood.

Found a polished Romy bolt carrier and gave it a try. I think it looks better and it is solid instead of having the lightning cuts in the top and bottom. Like a lot of others I love the Century Arms single stage trigger!!! it's really an improvement. What ya think?

i love mine , put another 150 through it last weekend , my only complaint was the 3 tone finish and mine had poly furniture and it sucked , i put wood on it and it feels much better , and redid the metal with alumihyde , mechanically its been flawless and i have about well over 3k through it , still head spaces very well , no bolt degradation , no peening

i zoomed in on it , i remember what i did now , i took a swivel stud , drilled through the end cap where the hole for a cleaning rod would normally go ,mounted the stud and then the swivel to that

someone told me that they used the hole in the front sight base to do theres , so thats a option for you to consider

Wanted to fit the rifle with a bi-pod. I modified a Weaver barrel mount that's designed to fit horizontally so it would fit under the gas tube. Milled off one side and it fit perfectly. Now I just have to cut the four screws a little shorter. This rifle doesn't really need a bi-pod but I have two AK's with 20" and 23.5" barrels that could use them as well. Several pics added here.

"RAINY DAYS ARE PLAY WITH GUNS DAYS!" Cleaned up my shop and stated sorting out gun parts drawers and found this black polymer furniture. Not sure I'm entirely liking it though. I do like the expanding stock though. I found that when I extend the stock I can see "much more gooder" the iron sights! Tomorrow my Plum furniture is supposed to arrive from Palmetto State Arms. Had I known I had the black furniture I would have just painted it. The Weaver barrel clamp below the gas tube is for a upper QD sling mount. They don't come with a upper sling attachment. Might just take that off as I don't think I'd ever use a sling.

A little more machine work this evening. In order to align any flash suppressor I had to make a barrel nut. Drilled out a 9/16 nut with a 1/2" drill, used L/H M14x1.5 tap to make the necessary threads to thread on the barrel. Worked great and now I can put any of my flash suppressors on. Took this suppressor out of my Hungarian AMD65 kit. (Removed the Weaver barrel mount, under the gas tube, and going with "hoopharted's idea.)

My Plum Stock Set arrived this afternoon. Not very happy with the fit. My VSKA is a totally U.S. made AK and I'd guess there are dimensional differences. The lower handguard had to be filed in order to miss the front trunnion and the stock was a total nightmare! "FORTUNATELY" I own a milling machine to make everything to fit. The stock was .040" larger than the receiver opening and the steps had to be milled to fit the rear of the trunnion and miss the rivets. But an hour later of milling labor all fit together. Now the stock will probably be a wobbly side to side fit for a regular AK.

Played more with the VSKA today. Added a padded riser on the stock and a cheeze grade upper handguard. Yesterday I added a dust cover scope mount and of course I had to modify it to fit my rifle but now is very stable. It takes special scope rings that fit into holes in the top of the rail. Here's a pic for those who are bored and like AK Porn.

Has anyone used one of these scope mount dust covers with the side screw? I'm sure it's probably early Chinese as I've had it a long time. It never fit anything so it sat in the parts pile. With the high cost of Picatinny dust covers I'm just too cheap to buy one. Anyway I had a lot of fitment problems to make it fit my VSKA. It was a few thou too long and the buffer spring locking lug, which came with the VSKA, was too wide. Milled out the inside of the dust cover but still didn't fit properly. Discovered too late that I had a spare spring locking lug and used it after widening the cover exit hole. The fit is very good and solid now. Of course I have not fired the rifle to test if it holds zero yet! Actually I have yet to fire my new rifle at all. Maybe this week!
