Ok let's Ease into this!!!
I know about the Imperial German "eagle" on Gew 98's
so If this is a Gew98 Bolt

What would it be without the eagle but keep the Crown over the "G" or "C" or??? Rocking chair for all I know...

It would be a Gewehr 98 bolt that had been inspected, accepted, and so marked -- but not marked as having been proof fired. Possibly from 'work in progress' at the end of WWI.
So...The Eagle is a proof, and the "Rocking Chair" under the Crown is an Acceptance mark??

Thanks...That's a Start!!!
Now...how many different "Characters" are under the Crown??? I have seen at least two besides the "rocking chair", so I know of three Acceptance marks...From whence they come??? I know not!!!

Edit;
Thanks Bill...What is "Old News" to you is a "Revelation" to Me...and I much appreciate it.
Have you ever googled "Mauser bolt Markings"???
I have...and They all end with about Zero Information, and Fewer Pictures
I know that you Know...and I am gonna Pick your Brain!!!!!
