The recent discussion of Watts and White's, Bayonet Book prompted me to dig out the books I had when I started collecting. Some good and some bad.
"Military Edged Weapons of the World, 1800-1965 by Herman A Moeurer. Private printing, 1967. Paperback 151 pages. Poor photos, good sketches of markings. Best part of book is the dedication, "To my wife, without whose discouragement this book would never have been written."
"The Canadian Bayonet" by R. Barrie Manarey Cetury Press, Edmonton Alberta Canada 1971 Paperback, 51 pages. A excellent book that still is worth finding.
"Bayonets Illustrated" by Bert Walsh Bashall Eaves, Dublin Ireland, 3rd edition 1976 hard bound, 44 pages. Good line drawings, nothing exceptional
"Guide to Foreign & United States Bayonets & Miscellaneous Edged Weapons" by Dan Ernst private printing 1970, 112 pages, paperback Arranged by country, mixed photos and line drawings. Not a bad book.
"The Bayonet, A history of knife and sword bayonets 1850-1970" by Anthony Carter and John Walter Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1974 128 pages hard bound. Excellent line drawings. Wonderful book to have.
"Baionette Italiane, 1814-1991", by Cesare Calamandrei Italy 1992 Paperback 376 pages. Best single source on Italian bayonets I have found.
Hopefully this will be of interest.
