The Israelis use(d) hipowers from FN as CW said but also the Kareen(hipower variant) -which is the one I like.Kareens are an Arcus(Bulgarian) clone and feature ambi safety which optional on the Arcus.Kareens are now in the markIII phase and I would love to get one . I don't think the Kareens are coming in nowadays but i could be wrong but they are around.I would be very comfortable using +P loads like Corbon in either the Kareen or the Arcus .great functioning weapons! I have 2 Arcus pistols and love them.

Could you be a little more specific about what you would like to know? Basically, they are just Browning(FN) High Power pistols. The ones I have seen are either the "Classic" style or the "MK II" style. I have heard some "MK III" style are among the lot but I have not seen one. The condition varies from excellent to well used. You might want to check out the Browning Hi Power owners site for more complete information. Just search "Israeli".

I think you will find 4 basic flavors of HPs came out of Israel:
1. FN-made pistols for Israeli contracts.
2. FN and FEG pistols that came into Israel as captures or turn-ins and were later surplussed out of the IDF or police.
3. Early Kareens, essentially BHP clones, supposedly using FEG parts.
4. Later "Space Age" Kareens, supposedly using Arcus parts.

My gun is a standard commercial BHP, which the Israelis purchased and used "as is". At some point, they stamped it with a property mark and surplused it.

There are Israeli contract guns, and they have a few cosmetic differences. There are also "captured" guns, and other surplus guns purchased by the Israelis from 3rd party countries. I have seen a WW2 German proofed frame with Israeli marks, as well as Syrian contract guns come out of the recent imports.

@nirvana

Can you guide in identifying this FN hi power I acquired. your israeli hi power and my hi power share some similar markings like the Slide FN Roll marks and the "D" on the trigger guard. It has six digit serial number that i cannot identify to be FN/ Browning and it has none of the commonly known belgian proof marks. Can you post the first few digits of your HP's serial?

Here are the pics

I have an Israeli Arms, Kareem 9mm which is actually a browning hi-power clone. Had it for 20 years now, 2 original clips
as far as I can remember it has not jammed or misfed a single time. It has taken every cheap budget 9mm round I have every
pumped through it. Maybe I got lucky or maybe they just make them well in Tel Aviv?

There is a fellow named JayPee who has a very dedicated site to the FEG pistols and Kareens. He can be found on "Handguns and Ammunition" and you should be able to reference his site. I have a Kareen(early Kareens are FEGs), FNHP's',& a great new FEG. Fine pistols and all excellent shooters....Spad

My high power has the standard 1980s serial number setup, which I recall as being 245PR------
Is your lower stainless, or has it been stripped? It lacks any of the standard proofs? Hmm. Im not an HP expert, but This might be a question for the dedicated highpower forum. I don't want to give wrong info here.
