Here are a few pictures of my new Kareen Hi Power that I picked up at a gunshow around the Austin area a few weeks ago. Figured I'd see what others thought about it!

Adone Lion,
It has been refinished, but looks like a solid pistol. I prefer the BHP-clone Kareens like yours over the space-gun style later versions. Yours appears to have a FEG-pattern serial number, slightly different than the one on mine that has "AA" prefix and style I've seen on other Kareens. Can you show some more of your markings in clearer pics?

I hope these are easier to see; best I can do with my cell phone camera...

It has been refinished certainly unless it originally had a matte finish. I had to purchase it because it's Israeli, I had not ever seen one before, and it came with this cool holster! I have an IMI Jericho 941 in 9mm also. That it is a Hi Power is interesting to me especially as my Uncle, when he joined the military after WALKING from Lithuania to Israel just before Yom Kippur war, has told me about the kinds of weapons he encountered and was issued, including the FN FAL, etc. All sorts of European pistols were around, and he remembered the Hi Power especially; the police also commonly carried them.

I can't find much information on the Kareen, besides that it might be an 'unlicensed' copy? Kareen is also a sort of uncommon girl's name in Israel (a different way to spell 'Karen?')

Here's my "Israeli" High Power, made by FN in Belgium, circa 1952.

This is one of the Izzy High Powers that came into the US earlier this year that came from the Israeli Military and Israeli Police Stocks. My gun supposedly was a Jerusalem Police Department gun; but who knows for sure. The serial number places it DOB around 1952; the same vintage as me. It is a shooting gun, just like it is, without any modifications, just a good cleaning and lube:

it shoots a little left when compared to the Inglis High Power target I shot the same day. Both targets were shot at 10 yards; 1 magazine to the head and one center body mass. All in all, both guns, considering their age, shoot well.
