Looks a lot like an S&W M645.

 

More like the collision between a HiPower and a S&W 645. The 645 was stainless.

 

I have virtually the exact same pistol in 9mm. They are basically a double action High Power clone. Double action but the trigger pull from hell in double action.

 

You're correct, my Belgian GP-35 (ca. 1936) is very similar to the GKK-45. Right down to the grip checkering.

 

I remember when these FEG's were a common thing at a lot of gun shops. Don't see them often anymore. Nice find!

 

AIM had them a few years back, fair to OK condition, two mags, C&R OK, 9MM, for $219.00. I got 2. Nice little pistole.

 

It is a scaled up Browning HP. It was developed for the Bulgarian State Police, I believe in the 1980's. Once deliveries were completed, FEG continued to build them for the civilian market, and they were imported into America for a few years. They are uncommon today, and can be found on the gun auction sites all the time.
I currently own two of them, and they are fine shooting pistols. For the money, they are excellent pistols. That heavy trigger pull can be taken care of in single action, but the double action trigger pull will be long and heave no matter what you do. By the way, they use standard 1911 magazines, including higher capacity single stack 1911 magazines.
