thanks Landrclark, the knob you can pull back to cock, or pull and rotate till it locks into fire or saftey postion, the hood extends a little farther to protect a push button on front sight, in case you want to switch out, but the rifle only came with a v post, the groves on the barrel are numbered for a reference point like the es 350 b, theres a square bolt on rear sight leaf to adjust for windage, I like to take this one rabbit hunting, a little snow, and my beagle makes it easy.
