East German K98, Volkspolizei, stamp translation

The stamp is located in the sling cutout, opposite side of the keeper in the more shallow one. It's an oval with ETW in it. Anyone ever seen one or know what it means? I'll go grab a pic.

edit: here's a pic, also, has the TG over 2 in an inverted triangle, which I have seen before, but I can't remember what it signifies. Any help's appreciated on these two markings.

Not sure, but either Romanian or Bulgarian.

So the stock was marked with a romanian or bulgarian stamp (of what? unit? city? district? factory?) but not the action? That seems weird to me.

Now that I think of it, I had a VoPo K43 with that same triangle stamp on the stock.

I will have to disagree. Both are probably East German. The TG2 is seen on other NVA items, and the ETW could be Ernst Thallman Werke, a Suhl firm that was involved on a lot of manufacturing related to small arms. The latter is just a guess.
