Well I got this one online and it was a few, few more Bucks than $15.00 !

It is all about dimensions / tolerances, the magazine well on my Russian SKS 1951 Tula
has a smaller opening than the width of the feed lips on the Chinese Star 20 round
fixed box magazine, I'm adjusting the width of the feed lips on the magazine.

It's a little trail and error, fine tuning effort :cross

After I can load 20 rounds and dry cycle those 20 rounds then I feel it will be ready for the
Range !

Work in Progress

In regards to the Chinese SKS 20 round, fixed Box Magazine.

It will not cycle no more than 12-14 rounds without the jamming. I have spent several
hours of light fitting and trail/error fine tuning effort but it will not cycle 20 rounds.

The best I got was 16 rounds before jamming.

I'm returning it for a refund of my money.

Uncle, I'm done with this !

Paul,

SKSs are not tacticool rifles. If you want a tacticool rifle, go buy an AR.

Note: of 6 SKSs I've scoped one, and just pulled off the bipod on my 52 Tula that I installed in 1995. Only mod I intend to do is put on a set of Tech Sights but I'm having a hard time coming to a decision on which one gets modified.

Well, if extended mags were the answer on SKSs the Red Army, PLA and VCs would have had them.

A bit of stripper skill makes you just as fast on reloads, but that first twenty would be nice if reliable.
These star mags are the best of aftermarket SKS mags -surprised yours doesn't work.

I just stick to the regular SKS rifles, but I do have a Kalashnikov if the zombies show up and I need twenty rounds.

Me too...

I have 2 of the 20 rounders... One has the star, the other just says: "made in china"... Both mags work and feed fine... No jams, No failure to feed...

Have used them on both Russian Letter Gun (Tula '57) and Chinese /016\ with no problems... No "fitting", "adjusting", or "fine tuning" was necessary...

Paul,

Go slow and you may get it to work. It would be nice if you knew someone [local] that you could get your hands on one to check demensions.

Keep at it, you'll get it.
