Well, we all just recently suffered through a con thread trying to pawn off a humped rifle from a member with nearly 4K posts! The intention apparently to ensnare someone into making a PM offer. When exposed, they deleted the pics. Fortunately, images were restored by the administrator. For goodness sake folks, have some dignity. You really gonna risk your creds on this?

Oh, he threw out his credibility a long time ago. I was lucky enough to grab a "rare" M/28 many years ago and 90% into negotiations was told about a hand guard crack that "is typical with M/28s". Shame on me for not asking for pics - an early tuition piece because there ain't no M/28 hand guards floating around. I wouldn't give that guy $1 if he were sitting on the corner with a cardboard sign.

gun looks pretty nice for museum quality!
Keep in mind museums:
refinish/repaint
deactivate by welding and cutting to make the guns in-operable
store in basements with poor climate control
have bad research
take donations of stuff that may not have much value other than a tax donation with a higher value, so getting the "best" example is not a priority
beggars can't be choosers

Don't mistake "collector" grade for "museum" grade, they are not the same thing.

Yes easy to spot. As mentioned above unmolested stock will have it raised above the finish, not under it.

Weak stamps are possible like above, note how strong the C is - no sign over sanding and its on top of the finish. However the ones OP is referencing from the other thread were clearly sanded and finish over.

For clearity sake - said rifle from the Museum quality thread:
