If I was the one buying from him I would have no problem with it. However I told my mom that's what she could get me for Christmas. Cheap and easy. I would like to make it as easy as possible. Just go to the site. Give em your card number and get it mailed. I looked at his sight earlier tonight and it seems you have to actually get in contact with him and it looks like he has various type of bolt handles and I don't want to risk getting the wrong one. However if I have no other choice I can give my mom all the info she needs.

 

I highly recommend "Boltman." He has done 3 jobs for my Finn M39's, and a Swedish Mauser bolt. You will have to send him the bolt; either the one from your rifle or a spare parts bolt. You can use the bolt head from the original bolt with the spare bolt to maintain headspace. Accumounts, also a Gunboards sponsor, sells turned down bolt handles, but you can only buy one in conjunction with a scope kit order. If you buy a bolt anywhere else, caveat emptor.

 

He did a 03a3 bolt for me.I e mailed my questions,and he got right back to me with pictures of what he offered.

 

E mail him.At one time he had some of his big sellers made up in advance,he may yet.I had to send a 03a3 bolt since Mausers,and the MN are his bread,and butter.

 

i have done all my own up to this point, but with my work load i am going to give boltman a shot for my current project.

Max Shepherd bolt products. Much MUCH faster turn around over the Boltman. I can appreciate the fact that he is a sponsor but his turn around is absolutely ridiculous. Max was much faster and made it to MY specs.

Been leering for a while first time poster. I just got two bolts back from Max shepherd. 3 days there, he had them for 2 and three days back. I could not be happier with the quality of work and the ease of his website and order form and all the different customizable specs is great, although I went with the original specs on mine. Highly recommended.

Is Max Shepard still faster turnaround time?

Does he still perform good work? I am currently turning my ex sniper back into a sniper and thus need the handle bent.

I knew of bolt man who does good work from what Ive seen but apparently his turnaround time is bad (how bad IS bad? week? 2 weeks? 3+weeks??)

Their prices are very comparable...

Something to consider: WHY does "Boltman" have a 3-month backlog? Those of us that will wait know the answer.
