I'd like to hear from some folks that have bother or just one of these. What are the pros and cons of one over the other? Which of the two do you prefer?

Thanks

Had 2 Model 84's one blue and a nickle one. Both shot very well and I liked having all that .380 at my disposal. Trigger was sweet also. Grips fit OK as my hands are smallish but it felt good when shooting. I have not shot the CZ-83 or own one yet, but from handling one and looking at the fit and finish on one, I really do not think you could go wrong with either pistol. IMHO

I'd vote for the CZ-83, I own 2 vz.82s. One is my carry gun, the other is in my night stand. The ergonomics of the CZ, combined with the abidextrous (not reversable) magazine release and safety make it tops in my book!

I own both the CZ-82 and CZ-83. The CZ-83 does not have the polygonal rifling of the CZ-82 and is nowhere nearly as accurate. I love my CZ-82s but could well pass on the CZ-83.

I have an 84F and a CZ-83, as well as some other .380acps. They're very comparable in every way and I prefer the CZ-83. The CZ, for me, has better ergonomics (IIRC thinner, slightly longer, grip, and thinner slide), an easier to rack slide (more and bigger serrations and lever doesn't interfere), adjustable/replaceable front sight, and seems to kick less either due to greater weight or better ergo. The Beretta has a more durable epoxy(?) finish, a decocker, and nicer, cleaner, machining. They're very, very, comparable in shooting. For carrying, the Beretta 85 or SigSauer P230/2 are friendlier due to slimmer profile.

Gun Tests Magazine did just this head-2-head and just published it (April issue).

Rated both A-

Both took hits for lack of grip traction (smooth wood on the Baretta, not much better plastic on the CZ)
