Arsenal 26 SKS, Can't remove magazine

I am field stripping my new to me SKS. It is a 6 digit serial Arsenal 26 SKS. Following field strip directions i've made it down to removing the trigger group and tried to remove the magazine. The videos i've watched and descriptions i've read say it should just lift out. I can't get it out, i've tried wiggling, pulling, rotating the mag down while pulling. I've even tried putting screwdriver on the top of the magazine and lightly tapping it to see if it would move at all. NOPE.

HELP. what am i missing. Is there something different about this SKS that i need to do differently?

no matter what country made the SKS they all disassemble the same exact way. it's stuck in there pretty good, just use a lot of brute force

There is a cross pin at the forward end of the magazine assembly that affixes to a slot/lug on the underside of the receiver. Sometimes you've got to push or pull the magazine rearward to disengage the cross pin from the slot/lug.

stripped, cleaned, put back together (no extra pieces :thumbsup: ). Function check completed normally. I have to admit I think the take down is very simple after doing it a couple times. I"ll definitely post a range report, when i get to shoot it.
