Probably some of the regular mild steel core LPS projectiles that Wideners was/is selling. Lets see a pic of the "sectioned and rockwell hardness tested" core...

Sounds like a shyster looking for suckers...

$.50 each for projectiles from cartridges that are not even in most advanced cartridge collector's collections...sounds too good to be true.

Look at the holes in the steel plate. Obviously made by a ball projectile. AP holes look different. Jacket sheds and the core makes a smaller hole. Look at the real 7N13 holes in the link he mentions...

Glad no one made a bid.

i was about to say that one day at the range someone left a quarter inch steel plate out there and my lead core was able to blast through it(1950's bulgy) and i noticed that mild steel core which so many uninformed people say is armor piercing can only penitrate slightly deeper steel than lead, but certainly not even not 1/2" steel which real ap ammo should. what a crock of an ad. BOO!

I'm not sure why people get so excited about buying AP bullets. If you are shooting steel plate than "ding" is all you need. It's not like someone would draw a target and watched groups printed on steel. Unless the price would be close to regular projectiles, I see no point of paying a top dollar for those.
This reminds me a situation when I go a bunch of sniper ammo . Paid top dollar for it , shot at 50 yard range and got results just like any other ammo.

I only buy it to resell...I think the armor peircing thing is all about the Endtime...I keep some for the collection but could never see a reason to shoot it ...just my thrifty side not wanting to use up something of value for nothing...never been attacked by a lightly armored vehicle at the range...I do admire the guys who are prepared for anything tho!!!

You are absolutely correct.
My point is that it does go through the tank and we are debating on whether AP round should have harder or softer core. By using this example, I'm trying to point that the harder may not exactly be better . I'm no expert and I'm not trying to start an argument, just saying that the answer may not be as simple as : harder will penetrate better
