That looks like a standard Mosin Nagant 1895 pistol that should shoot 7.62Ă—38mmR ammo, not 22 long rifle. If it does shoot 22 ammo, that's the first that I have personally seen. In reading you full post on the other forum, I see that you are a collector of them so I'm quite sure you are positive of the caliber. Definitely a first for my eyes, I do see the cylinder sleeves now. - - - Dan

I posted this in the nagant forum but since this forum has more traffic I thought I may be able to find out more info cross posting it.

It is a legit "Smirnskij" M1895 in .22LR, I will try to post of pics a few of them (on the 1895 thread) and dig up some notes from Joe Leiper (RIP) but there is a lot of info on his website russianrevolvers.com.
I have similar markings on one of mine BTW

Thank you. I had been out of collecting for several years since around 2008-10. I knew Joe before that and just learned of his passing a few days ago. I did not know about his website. I believe this is the last variation he talks about. The website dose not cover this varation in detail as it is listed as as under construction. I will email the guy listed as taking over and go from there. Thank you I have a least an ideal where to go now.
