I saw this for sale in my local big box store. I was wondering if anyone can help me to rate it, realistic value etc because I haven't seen many Yugo mausers before.
It's a Yugo M48A. It looks pretty nice - the bluing is pretty much perfect, the stock is in good shape. The odd thing is that the stock is unfinished and kind of rough to the touch. Is that normal? There's usually some kind of preservative or oil finish on most milsurp stocks I've seen. This one just feels dry.
It has a Cherrys NC import mark, which apparently has a good rep. They're asking $700 which I don't think I would pay, but I was thinking of making an offer. I haven't had a chance to look at the bore yet, but I would do that before buying. Anyone care to suggest a fair value for this? Is this likely to be it's original condition, or is it refinished? Are they decent shooters?
