Thank You for posting this thread about your partially sporterized Mauser.

As communicated by other gunboards members, this Mauser is restorable.

This DOES look like an Armscorp import. The left side of the rear sight base should show the Armcorp import mark.

Many of these Armscorp import Israeli K98Ks in my opinion were in very nice condition.

The stock on the Israeli K98K posted by "Jimmy C" is the European beechwood replacement stocks that were installed to these rifles prior to their storage and surplus sale from Israel.

Your cut down stock is one of these European beechwood stocks.

It would be my suggestion to wait for an excellent condition sample made from European beechwood to show up online. These do come on the market from time to time. There are online gun parts retailers that sell the correct bands, bayonet lug, and hand guard for this. The buttplate and recoil lug can be swapped to your new stock, if it needs these parts.

Unfortunately, many gun stocks on the online marked have the original metal parts removed.
