While I'm still downsizing, I can't resist it when something I've been after comes on the radar. Always wanted a sharp Israeli mauser with a Czech lion after doing a military assignment to these two countries in the same year. Found this at a pawn shop for a decent enough price, but man if it doesn't hurt to see someone cut the stock and lightly sand it on something that no doubt was in amazing shape and as late as the 90's. On the hunt for some bands and a stock or at least a fore-end for grafting now, if anyone has one in the back room collecting dust 😁.

Beautiful Czech made Israeli Mauser. To bad it got sportered. The bands bayonet lug and top cover are available on ebay. The stock you will have to look for. Below are a few pic's of my Czech lion crested Israeli Mauser. It's a Armscorp import. I would bet your rifle is also a Armscorp imported rifle.
Apex has Israeli stocks as well as the other bits you will need. Don't forget the cross pin which holds on the front band and bayonet lug, as well as the spring wich holds on the front sling band!

As communicated by other gunboards members, this Mauser is restorable.
This DOES look like an Armscorp import. The left side of the rear sight base should show the Armcorp import mark.
Many of these Armscorp import Israeli K98Ks in my opinion were in very nice condition.
The stock on the Israeli K98K posted by "Jimmy C" is the European beechwood replacement stocks that were installed to these rifles prior to their storage and surplus sale from Israel.
Your cut down stock is one of these European beechwood stocks.
It would be my suggestion to wait for an excellent condition sample made from European beechwood to show up online. These do come on the market from time to time. There are online gun parts retailers that sell the correct bands, bayonet lug, and hand guard for this. The buttplate and recoil lug can be swapped to your new stock, if it needs these parts.
Unfortunately, many gun stocks on the online marked have the original metal parts removed.
