Which magazines work with a P210/P49?

I'm looking around and seeing genuine P49 magazines are averaging $250-350 and wondering what the alternatives are.

Some digging (and Sig forums) say that P210 "Legend" magazines will work--but only if they are made in Germany rather than Italy (which apparently are too short). Apparently other 210 magazines will fit if a different floorplate (from a 225) is used.

Is there some authoratative list of the magazines that will work in P210/P49 without modification? Or what modifications are required to make others work?

Thanks

It depends on what you mean by “work”. The Legend mag floorplates don’t quite clear the heel release, but they do stay in. You can mill (or file them a bit) and they work great. You can also replace with 210/225 floorplates, the aluminum Wyss floorplates, or the Nill heavy steel ones. If you’re just scrolling through Gunbroker or somewhere, it’s the blue and red packaging. Still a lot of NOS mags floating around for $40-50.

Or you can just do the Swiss thing and own a single mag.😂

I just went on eBay and the 'broker, all the packaging is gray and silver.

Also, can you confirm the Italian-made 210 Magazines will NOT work in a P49? This is my source for that

Just want to confirm those are a nogo even with different floorplates. Speaking of which, not finding sites for Wyss or Nill, where are these available?
I suspect all of the non-Swiss mags are Mec-Gars. Not sure why some work and some don’t. Also not sure why people in your link are reporting any non-Swiss mags work without modification (the ones I have are pictured in Post #11 of your link—baseplates need to be shaved down for those. You can see the mag catch is not fully engaged in his second photo).

Nill baseplates are pricey, but nice:

Wyss Waffen is Swiss:

Not sure why the Wyss plates are so expensive—I remember them being like 20 francs before. They are definitely not worth more than that.
