I have problems also connecting most of the time, eventually will not go there anymore. It is not like there are so many members login in either, there are some serious connection issues that never get fixed.

 

The AK forum has worked fine for me the last couple of days. A little slow at times, but still useable.

 

When I worote my previous post on this subject it was unaccessible.

Clearing the cookies has nothing to do with this. It just comes and goes, I am not the only one with this problem.

I have recent issues .Their equipment is over worked.Just out growing their system like gunboards here has over the years. they have become slow and unreliable and seems to be getting worse.

 

How can it be overworked? They ban most of those that join. I have never been a member there, but after reading about all the banned members over here (in a thread now locked), I tried to sign up at theakforum.net and was told that my email address was banned. I can't even get in and have never been a member. I was Pre-BANNED. An honor, I guess. I think it is bad karma killing their junk system. POS system just for builder KrinkFreak's folly anyway. GunBoards.com is #1.

 

The AK Forum is a victim of it's own popularity. The Admins are working toward a fix.The problems are all server related.
The Gmail accounts have been banned as an effort to stem the almost unbelievable tide of spammers using the Gmail accounts.

 

Another thing, since you are new around here you don't know this but Gunboards was crap last fall. It took a lot of work and a whole lot of $$ from the members and Vic/Tuco to fix it. GB has been around longer that the AKforum and has had worse problems.

Yeah I used to hang out there too. Recently I too was banned, and though I suppose I deserved it - violated one of the rules - it got me thinking, and I realized that every time, and I mean *every* time I contacted one of the moderators I went out of my way to be helpful and respectful, knowing they have a heavy workload (I'm a moderator on the #3 most popular photography website, so I understand.), the answer I get EVERY TIME is, "If you don't like it please go elsewhere." I realized that, you know? I just don't belong there.

 

They gave me Amnesty ! ( So all is forgiven except the part where some folks there thought I was a Liberal interloper causin trouble ...

 

Yeah, they gave me amnesty too, but I still feel that I no longer wish to put myself in such a situation where such capricious moderators control my presence.
