Update and question on SKS hand guard ferrule pin removal...

Hmmmmm.

I remember a friend who showed me his SKS that he'd restocked with aftermarket plastic.
He'd driven out the pin in order to remove the wood handguard.

I asked him if he didn't know that the wood would spin longitudinally along the gas tube if he twisted it 180 degrees thus freeing the handguard from the tube's retaining clips and that he didn't have to remove the pin and fore-end in order to take the handguard off.

Come to find out, he didn't know that. :laugh:

To be fair, those handguards are usually on tighter than Dick's hatband and I couldn't remembered how I'd figured it out myself.
