I came across a beautiful Polish M44 today that was absolutely perfect. It was unissued and still had cosmoline. What are the current value of these examples these days? The owner said he'd had it since the 50's I believe. I was considering buying it, but decided to think about it. Sorry no pictures. Thoughts?

It looked very similar to this one's condition. I know I should have taken a pic, but I just wasn't sure I wanted another M44 since I've shifted my interests elsewhere. Since coming home today it has been nagging me that I didn't go for it since it was only $400 and change. I just didn't want to be too deep into this to get my money out down the road. Thats why I asked.

Hmm this is good info!
I have had my M44 for over 25 years it was still in cosmoline when I purchased it. Mint, unissued and it has still never been fired, it just sits in my safe and has been kind of forgotten!
I got it thrown in on a trade for some class 3 weapons years ago from an importer in Florida. I don't remember the name though.
I have been trying to find current pricing on all of my firearms as I don't really shoot as much as I use to!
Getting old sucks!
Hopefully these pics show up good!

I picked one up at a show for $90 and sold it walking back to my table for $250. I figured that was easy money and I'd see another one soon enough. 10 or so years later a buddy sold me one for $225 with right sling and ammo pouches. I will die with this one in the safe as I have learned my lesson. Very nice Congrats! Bill

I bought a beautiful one early last year for $350 at a local shop. It was in immaculate condition, impossible to improve on. So nice in fact that I couldn't bring myself to shoot it so I decided to flip it. I dragged it to a few gun shows and everyone who looked at it drooled over the condition but I couldn't get anyone to crack their wallet at $500. I could have put it up on GB or a forum and held out for more, but ended up selling it for $475.

I have an Polish M44 made in 1953 that I got back in the late 90s
It is new and unfired and was curious what it is worth today
It's been sitting in the Gun Vault for over 20 years now and I want to sell it and wanted pricing info and then I saw all of this
The weapon I have is just as clean as any that have been shown on this post.
Thanks for the heads up!

I try to keep my eye on the market for these. I’ve seen them go from low $500s to $1200 in the last year or so. That’s just the range I’ve seen. I think $1200 is ridiculous. Give it a few years maybe and then maybe give it a few more but not now. I’d say an average market price on these right now is probably around $700-800. I have 4 “unissued” examples that I got within the last year or so and my range was low $500s to $750. I do my best to find stuff at or below market with lots of patience.
