My web page can be can be read at www.mosin.fi. During the 1930s, Finnish inventor Tuomas (Tommo) Vohlonen invented a new type of compass "whose magnetic needle is completely enclosed in a sealed celluloid case”. In April 1933, he filed a patent application. You can read more about the invention of the compass and the later lawsuit with Oy Physica Ab (the same company which built scopes for the Finnish Defence Forces) from a Wikipedia article.

I've gathered around 7000 records for Finnish Defence Forces and Civil Guard Suunto and Physica compasses. The Suunto m/34 compass below was in a shipment that was shipped to the Finnish Defence Forces during the Winter War. "PM T" marking indicates the compass was accepted and owned by the Ordnance Department of the Ministry of Defence (of Finland, Puolustusministeriön taisteluvälineosasto), the same department that handled firearms and artillery. This marking predates the universal [SA] marking and was used in other items than firearms until 1942.
