Just heard from his widow that Terry Foley died Saturday in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire, of an apparent massive heart attack. Tac was a soldier, a polyglot, a dedicated and skillful shooter of most types of firearms and a special friend. He and Gay actually visited us twice when I lived in Oregon. He loved my native state almost as much as he loved "playing trains" with garden-scale locomotives -- and driving sports cars. Rest in peace my friend. Lighting a candle.

I remember years ago when I was PCS'ing to the UK and interested in bringing a firearm, he reached out to me to give me some advice. He was a wealth of knowledge, and will sorely be missed. Condolences to his family.

Tac was one of the cornerstone members going back to the earliest days of Gunboards. A wealth of knowledge and experience, Tac was always prepared to share his expertise with anyone and everyone who had a question that required an answer. He lived an "old school" life of adventure that can never be replaced. Our condolences to Tac's Family. He's left a place in their lives that can never be replaced.

God Bless Tac and we'll see you on the other side my Friend.

Sad, sad, news. Sorry for his loss, to his family, friends, and all in this community that knew and interacted with him. He was one of a kind. Rest in Peace.

I'm posting this for Pierre St. Marie, who still can't log onto the forum he created.

"Leon, I would like to say that Tac was a relatively close Internet friend of mine for 25 years. He was one of those few that received a new product every time we put it online. Most all communications were emails, but I did speak to him twice when he was in Oregon. Other than Swiss rifles, his true passion was miniature railroads, I have some photos somewhere of his incredible collection, but those photos were in emails from something like 15 years ago so I'll have to do a search. I would say is that he was one of a very small circle of very close friends that I've had on the Internet for the past 25 years, and he will be sorely missed by the St. Maries. His sense of humor was dry, as it seems to be with most British subjects, but for me he was a true friend and I take his loss very personally.
God rest your soul, Terry.
P"

I'm very sorry to hear this. We had some great dicussions about the Swiss stuff and reloading in general. For some reason I thought he was a youngster, like recently retired from the military.
Condolences to the family.
