My No4 MK 2... 60/POF/ C35229
I bought this rifle back in the 1980's. The strange thing about it, that made me buy it, was that it was set up like a No4 MK 1 T. It had the pads, but no cheek rest. At that time I had a No 4 MK 1T Sniper, so I know that the, scope mount and scope fit. This was years before, you could buy the kit to make your own sniper rifle. Just wondering if anyone else had one like it? I will have to take some photos to show you.

Here is another one, an excellent condition and all matching 1961 made one without the usual forend screw, serial number is C44683 -

Acquired a POF Mk. I from a member this past week.

POF NO. 4 Mk. I
54/P.O.F./ B07249

The barrel has a broad arrow mark and the Pakistani moon and star mark next to it. Many parts a Paki made, some of British made. There is a thick coat of green tropical paint layered on the bottom half of the barrel and receiver, mostly where it would be under the wood line. The magazine, bolt, left receiver wall, left wrist, and fore stock are numbered and matching.

If anyone is still following this thread I just purchase a No 4 Mk II the other day. 60/P.O.F/C35237
Any one know the value of a No 9 Mk I bayonet?

POF No 4 Mk 2
1958 Production
C11098
C.A.I. (Century)

Just picked up this No 4 Mk 2 POF, all numbers matching in great condition. Looks to have had very few rounds fired but does have some interesting markings and arsenal repairs to the stock. Also it has the green protective paint under the wood.

Hi all, here's my contribution to the POF Enfield database:

POF No. 4 Mk. 2
1958 Production
Serial C15133
Receiver, socket, bolt, mag, fore-stock are serial matching. Stock bands and rear sight are POF marked.
Can't see any import marks, since I'm in Canada and we don't require them.

Question - Does anybody know what these markings represent or where I might find more information?
I can guess one may be a unit marking, but I'd really like specific info, rather than assumptions.

I'll hazard a semi educated WAG the one marking is an earlier acceptance stamp from the Pakistan Ministry of Defence.
