£15,000 is around $20,000 I think

$28,000 CAD for sure. That sounds relatively on par, I'd have to crunch some numbers, but I'm certainly up to at least $7,000-$8,000 with less than 85 bayonets, and that's common varieties, not counting rare, obscure, or low-production examples.

Is that headline some sort of a play on words, or does your local newspaper need to hire a new editor?

 

I assume the word 'steel' was intentional.
I am ashamed to admit if this was published in USA I might have some doubt.

It would be nice to turn this around. From an education ranking table:

 

@sandgrounder Keep an eye out as others who read this article will say, "why, I should sell those old bayonets dad left me from the war" or somesuch reasoning. Usually, an article like this brings old relics out of closets and drawers, so keep an eye out.

In fact, it's worth putting an advert in the paper: Local collector seeking old militaria: bayonets, helmets and uniforms. Or something similar.
