I have had near 100 SKS rifles, but never really caught the AK-flu. Just one WASR-10 in the stable. But with the pandemic and all, I might have caught the bug with this preban Chinese Norinco 56S from Factory /66\.

It came with two thirty round mags and a Triangle /36\ 75-round drum. I dug a bayonet out of a box. I don't think it is Chinese, but it locks on nicely.

A little salty, with some dings, scrapes and light pitting. All numbers match. You AK folks can tell me what I've got...

Pics, enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Hey Martin, I recently acquired a mosin nagant that you might be quite interested in. Unfortunately, it doesn't let me pm you, so can you pm me?
Beauty of a gun btw

A nice Chinese type 56 pre ban AK import by Import Arms., Sacramento, California.

The bayonet is East German.

The magazines are Eurpoean or possibly Sino- Soviet (but not too likely).

A Chinese sling with a bit of wear would be a nice addition.

A very good example of the AK rifle as created by the Chinese.
The Chinese drum is worth a good bit of $$., as well.

Great looking AK. I am starting to get into these so thanks for all the info shared in this thread. I am going to pick one up that is a lot like this except it has the folding stock. But I would prefer the wood stock.

Years ago I purchased a Sile/Polytech double underfolder. One of the early imports. Imported oy Da Keng of Polytech Intl USA. (PTI)

I don't shoot it a lot. Nice AK but not one of my favorites but it is a "collectable" at this point. Have the box and the stuff that came with it. I have the muzzle nut somewhere. I liked the slant brake better.

Also a pre ban type 84 Chinese AK in 5.56.

Not really thinking the AK's were collectable.., but I was attracted to them. And Val Forgett (owner of Navy Arms) and Da Keng (owner of Polytech USA) were both often at the Ohio Gun Collector shows. So all the imported stuff was there to gawk at.

Different than the more expensive Lugers and Colt 1911's and the higher end stuff.

Bought my first Mosin Nagant from Navy Arms. Big clunky bolt gun for $59. Didn't realize until years later it s a Finnish Model 27. Kinda unusual and somewhat collectable Mosin Nagant.

Years later I collected a lot of those but at the time it just a big ole cheap rifle that I liked.

My first ever SKS purchase from Navy Arms about 35 years ago.
