Moving with ammunition...

There can be a big difference between the moving company's policy, and the policy of the truck driver who gets paid by pounds and miles. Ask around the gun club and you can probably come up with a name of a guy who has moved gun nuts before. When I moved across the country last Fall, I had a U-Haul reserved, but ended up not needing it.

I asked for a guy who moved some friends of mine. When the moving truck showed up on move day, I just discretely laid it out up front that I had some heavy ammo but I understood the company's policy. Chances are very good that if the driver owns his own truck, he is getting paid by a formula of rate times weight times miles, so the more he puts on the truck the more he gets paid. In this situation they will all but demand that you let them haul it. They wrap it all up nice in newapaper. "Sporting Equipment" gets written on the boxes and the inventory sheet.
Sounds like if it were to somehow disappear you might have a problem recovering something the Company's Policy Would not haul in the first place... Just saying...
