Metal Clasp on Bayonet ... What Is It?

I was going through my Swedish bayonets and noticed that one of them has a metal clasp that goes over the handle of the bayonet and over the pin on the metal scabbard. The clasp prevents you from removing the bayonet from the scabbard unless you remove the clasp. The metal clasp has three crowns stamped on it. I have never seen one and am curious as to its purpose since it prevents you from drawing the bayonet ... not necessarily a great idea if you are in a tense battle situation and you need to resort to drawing your bayonet.

When the bayonet is in its scabbard, hanging from the frog on a soldier's belt, and the soldier is sitting in the back of a truck getting bounced around, it prevents the blade from popping out of the scabbard and stabbing someone in the leg, groin, or foot.
