Hello everyone! First post on the French firearms forum.
I recently acquired a MAS 36/51 over here in New Zealand, and I am now a huge fan of French milsurp firearms. This firearm has exceeded my expectations. I developed a load using 41.0gr of AR2206H (H4895 in the U.S.) behind a 150gr Hornady SP. It shoots a little to the left, but with a bit of aim-off applied, it shoots really well. 10 shots within 4 inches at 100m. I like this rifle for the following reasons:-
- Comfortable to shoot, weight/recoil
- Bent bolt handle well positioned
- Front sight wide, however easy to pick up in low-light
- Tight, slick action
- Rifle grenade attachment protects crown from damage
- Very simple to disassemble and clean
- Recoil pad with rifle protects butt from damage
- Easy to reload for
Photos... wrong flag, but oh well.
