A friend just bought two M1's, one in the traditional 30-06 and the other in that new fangled 7.62 NATO. But he's having difficulty loading up the clips, something to do with an IED in Afghanistan. While worried that it was beyond my meager 3d modeling experience, I decided to try and create an easy to use loader. Although this was my first attempt at creating moving parts, it worked perfectly the first time!
Drop in the empty clip, and stack the rounds in. You can use the lever to push in the 6th and 7th rounds with ease. To seat the 8th round takes a bit more push, but he manages it easily even with a new, tight clip. A couple of buddies that have M1's are amazed by this thing. I'm having too much fun with this 3d printer!
