very creative and simple

I made one out of wood 4 years ago based on John Garand design, as a winter project. using scrap wood, I had laying around in my garage.

I used steel for certain parts that would see wear and stress; like the clip holder, the round pusher handle, the pusher guide(located on the back of the post) and the ammunition track. for the ammunition track I used a couple of the Chinese 10 round .308 stripper clips that I removed the ammunition tensioner out of and set in a furrow. the 30-06 rounds fit in the .308 clip.
