Is this an argentinian FN-FA, "Type A", (1953), bayonet ?

I don't think this is Argentine. The Argentine bayonets have a serial number in the same location but do not have a letter prefix and the font is different. Also, the scabbard on the Argentine model has a round frog stud.

The "KA" prefix is the key to identifying this piece. I don't know off the top of my head which country it is.

As far as I know only Argentina used such bayonets, showing grip plates, made of plastic.

For some reason the Netherlands is coming to mind but I haven't found anything yet to substantiate that. I'm looking.

Janzen identifies Portuguese FALs with plastic grips. Also South Africa used plastic grips. But the KA doesn't identify with either of those countries.

That is a very cool FAL Type A bayonet. The KA serial number prefix is from the Kuwait-contract FN-FAL rifles. You may have to register to see an example pictured on the FAL Files forum at http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=386784
