Info on Bering Optics and Accumounts Repro PU Scopes

Hey guys. I just wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with these two reproduction brand PU's, and if so, which one is the better optic?

I know the Bering PU is a bit closer to the original in terms of function, with the reticle moving inside the FOV when you adjust it and whatnot. I could see that possibly being an annoyance, since I would assume the reticle would be very far up on the FOV for shots around 200m and in. Any photos of an original PU's reticle when adjusted for 100m/200m would be awesome.

I've heard the Accumount is very sturdy and has a good fit and finish, and it supposedly uses more modern internals.

Any info on this would be great, thanks!

P.S. I am not planning butchering a collectable, that was achieved by the previous owner of my rifle, and the rifle wasn't very collectable to begin with. It didn't really bother me at first, since I haven't been much of a collector before, but hanging around on this forum has made me get into it. So I'm gonna start the hunt for an original M91 and a M39, and then probably spend all my money on every other interesting Mosin I see.

Relic shows the correct view and specifies the scope is properly set up.
Thus that PU scope will go to 1000 yds and still have elevation left in it.
Trust me ...many here have take PU snipers to 1000 yds with accuracy.

But you can set the scope up improperly, have that reticle dead center in view for 100 yd
zero and all will be well. How far down the range you go till you run out of elevation is
unknown but it won't be very far.

Don't matter though, most here don't shoot beyond 300 yds so have at it...you'll get your PU
scope zero'd and shoot happily 100 to 300 yds with it improperly set up.

The only thing that makes a PU sniper rifle perform or fail to perform like a sniper rifle is the owner.

It is YOUR rifle, you do to it whatever you want.

But if you're going to drill holes in it to mount a PU clone scope, that's way more "Bubba" than that awful brown paint you removed.

If you need a scoped Mosin, there is a lot easier and cheaper way to do it.

You can install a after market scope base where the rear sight goes.

Then you can add a long eye relief pistol scope.

It's called a "Scout Mount" set up and the idea was invented by the late great Jeff Cooper as I recall.

Does not require a bent bolt, or any time consuming stock cut out.

My daughter's "Elk Rifle" is set up that way.

It is cheap, easy to do, and a VERY practical setup.

Using both eyes, the pistol scope with it's wide field of view, you can really quickly get the target in your cross hairs.

The other bonus is at the shooting range, you can still use "stripper clips" to quickly reload.

And it's accurate, my daughter and wife shot this target with it.

I've got the Bering PU scope on my ex-sniper, sniper. Love everything about it. I just finished it and range tested it about a week or so ago at 100yds but haven't posted any pics yet. I bought the scope from B&H optics which at the time( about 2 months ago) had free shipping. It's still 259.00 which includes base, mount, scope and lens covers but shipping is extra. Hope this helps--
