No. The list on this thread only tracks PW Arms-applied serial numbers, for the purpose of tracking how many were brought in to the US. I'd suspect that they were not stored in the various depots/armouries in Italy with any consideration for original serial numbers and manufacturers, so even if there were such a list to cross reference the usefulness of the data would be limited as the entirety of the PW Arms batch is likely composed of a random assortment of years, arsenals, rework dates, etc, not grouped or ordered in any particular way beyond model designation.

If you are looking for a good reference with overall production by year and serial number ranges for each arsenal, the "Model 1891 Carcano" book by Alberto Simonelli and Giovanni Chegia has a good appendix with this info.

Hi,

Thank you for the excellent reply, so essentially the PW Arms serial # is meaningless ... is it a necessity for still qualifying for C&R status.

As for full references, images and historical documentation ..

www.il91.it

It is in Italian but has everything you need to know about the M91, simply open any link in new Window and click translate to english,

This is what I want my Carabine to look like at the end of the Clean, Refurbishing process.

Don't forget to translate to english, also note the translation replace the italan word for Serlial Number by "Freshman"

Also the reason I need to make sure of the year is that in Canada the Collectible and Antique qualifications says the manufacturing date has to be before 1898,

As I willl be going up to Canada for some time next year.
