Nice! And looks to have all the acorns on the grips. Mine is missing a few.

 

This might be imperial German, or it could be third reich era. There is a way to tell for this style of Cutlass but forget what it was.

 

There are several in the estate i am working on. I have a show in Hoover Al this weekend. But will be posting others as i get to them

 

That Coppel trademark was used during the Third Reich, so basically 1933-45.

 

Other than an eagle and swastika being on the handle, I thought the later versions of these daggers had the manufacturer etched and not stamped onto the blade(?)....The Alcoso mfg. logo/name shown above looking stamped....Bodes

very cool - how much do these go for?

 

From prices i have seen assuming excellent conditions $1700 to $3000 depending on period and embellishment. Some are sets two knifes with a skinning knife.

 

Interestingly enough these Forestry daggers continued to be made up until the 1960's and 70's which could certainly keep the serious collector busy searching to find all eras and possible variations.....Bodes
