Just got this in, from the trader. (Thanks Solman!) Really cool box. Measures 9 3/4" wide, 5" deep, and 11 3/4" tall. Interior compartments are 2 3/4" x 3 7/8" Lid is padded with felt. Looks like the interior was also lined at one time. Red generally means artillery. I assume that's what the red dot is all about. Leather clad, rope handles. Small arty rounds, mortar rounds, fuses... Whatizzit?

IMA currently has the following two items for sale:

German WW2 Breda MG Feed Strips (8mm German) in Swastika Marked Chest $34.95

German WWII Eagle Reichsadler Stencil: Small: (5.25 x 3.5) $20.00

About the eagle painted on the chest, they say:

To denote that these are in the "German" caliber each chest has a newly applied but aged Desert Tan Eagle over Swastika emblem painted on the front panel for speedy identification, one could speculatively argue for use in North Africa after the British had routed the Italians and the Afrika Korp had to come to the rescue. These Feed strips alone have been offered previously for $ 5.00 each however here we offer Original WW2 Transit Chests each containing 12 Original WW2 Feed Strips in 8mm German caliber with the addition of the newly applied aged Desert Tan Eagle and Swastika identification marking for a very reasonable price. It will look great in any German WW2 display!

I wonder if they put the disclaimer in the lower part of their description AFTER someone complained the marking was fake?

Perhaps the red dot indicates the strips and ammo are 7.92X57 instead of 8mm Breda. The Italians made the M37 machine gun in both calibers.

Thanks for the info guys. That's why I tend to stay away from WWII German items. Oh well, no problemo. Folks love them some swastikas, at gunshows. Sorry BC, I don't have a clue on the eagle thing, either.

Apart from the Fake Adler Markings, they are NOT German: They are Portuguese M937 Breda strip carrying cases; IMA Bought and destroyed hundreds of Portuguese Bredas (made by Soc. E. Breda, Roma, for the Salazar Portuguese Gov't in 1937-39), in cal. 7,9mm ( Clips are different from Italian 8x59RB Breda ammo); They even sold complete Spare Parts Cases (Armourer's Kits, with Parts, Charts Tools etc) and "Re-welded" Up "Dummy Guns", destroying most of the ID stampings (Port. Crest etc) in the Process. Misrepresentation and Deceptive advertising typical of IMA.

Germany did "acquire"( confiscate) Breda Guns in Italy (43-45) but they were in 8x59RB, not 7,9mm. Whilst Breda did offer the M37 Gun in 7,9mm to other buyers besides Portugal and later, Spain, it did not have very wide distribution outside of Italy Before or during WWII; ( Obsolete strip tray feed); after WW II, the Breda Gun was maintained in Italian service until replaced by the MG42/59 in 1959-60.( alongside the British Bren Gun, and the US BAR and M1919A4).

Spain did make a Belt-Fed version in 1942-43, but it saw little use.

Any connection "Breda-Germany" by IMA is BS, if relating to 7,9mm cal.
