So recently acquired a pretty nice looking and nearly complete type99 lmg parts kit. While tearing it down I realized that the chamber end looked off. From what I can tell, someone started the process of rechambering it but never finished for whatever reason. Too loose for 7.62x39, too tight for 7.62x45, x51 or 7.7. Wondering if what was done here lines up with some of the work other people had done in the past to rechamber these to say 308. Not sure if I'm brave enough to finish it or not, the bore is pretty good so would seem like a waste to not use it.
