Found this one in an auction seller was a dealer 1,5h away from me. So placed a bid, won and went there today to get it.

Yup, it has the correct markings for a Yugo model 44. I have one that is 1946 or 47, I forget. They are interesting. Wonder why the rear sight is partially in the white.

Simple: better visibility of the markings. Same on M24, and all the follow up yugo Mousers

I own one and the markings on your rifle are textbook. Including the scrubbed rear sight and lined out butt plate.

It's just so odd how every butt plate is lined out, but it's common for all the other parts to be matching. I assume that while the wood was sent to be refinished, the Yugos kept the other parts together during refurbishment? Then didn't really care if the butt plates got mixed up, but still felt the need to remark them to matching???? Just seems like wasted time when they could have just kept the butt plate with the rest of the gun if they wanted the parts to be matching.

I think the biggest indicator on those is the sight leaf and trz marked stock.

The restamped all numbered parts to match. On the buttplate old number is lined out, on floorplate and bolt old number was ground out and restamped. If you compare the 2 and the 7 on barrel and other 3 numbered parts, you will find them to be in a different font.
So they did a full refurb in 1.TRZ, located in Cacak, operatinal from 1944 till 2005.
I own a PPSh41, that was reworked there too.

10 rounds at 50m. The lowest sightcset at 300m. The one in 7 low 500m. With 600m setting 8 in 10 ring. Handload with 174grn FMJ bullets, duplicating D30 perfornance.

First time I've heard of a Yugo M44 as well. Of course I've only been at this 23 years. That's a good looking rifle. Are you saying you only shot at 50M but changed the sights to the meters you show? Or did you shoot an M44 out to 600M?

I moved the setting of the rear sight to 600m to get into the x-ring at our 50m range.
100m range is not operational yet, but we had it aprooved by he authorities just last month. So some more work on it and we than have our own 100m range in the club, 4 lanes that is.
50 and 25m range with 6 lanes each and a trap range were built in the last years.

300m would be the maximum distance offered by ranges here, but doing that with the M44 is quite a challenge. I fear, my eyes are not good enough for that anymore.
Back in the days I was sooting 100 and 300m service rifle competitons up to german championship, but not anymore.

POA was always 6 o'clock under the black, about 6 ot 5 ring. I use shooting glases with iris aperture to adjust my vision.

Was to the 50m rage again, testing some loads with resized bullets(.323" and .318" down to .311")
Below the 196grn S&B RN .318" intended for 8x57I Gew.88 loads etc. Sized with Lee sizer to .311", driven by Vihtavuori N110 at 572m/s, sight setting 700m.

Also found some S&B LPS silvertip for some blasting fun. Not bad either

Holes not in the groups were sighters to find a matching sight setting.

BTW: Here we have another yugoslavian used/refurbed weapon!
PPSh41 with yugo made Elm stock. Like the ones for M48.
Rework also done in Cacak, 1.TRZ.
This one is a later conversion to 9mm Luger(100% reliable and a whole lot of FUN at the range) but "neutered" to

semiauto fire only.

That is cool, and I've never seen one in the States, or a Yugo M-44 refurb either!
