Good evening Gentlemen,

wanted to share my latest imports with you, I have just received from Swissdagger in Switzerland 3 pistols, all made by ASAI
2 Asai One Pro 9 mm pistols and 1 Asai one Pro 45 ACP pistols.
The 9 mm pistols have never been imported into the US, so I got two unique pistols.
they are all coated with a special coating that make them scratch resistant.
see for yourself how small the 9 mm pistols are, they are now 10 shots and I have also put the 16 shot mag next to it and another one in the pistol.
this is a package smaller than a PPK. but with a lot more firepower.
the pistols were made by Oerlikon and you can compare them with the Sphinx.
I have imported more spare mags with this since you can not get spare mags out of Switzerland anymore.
Hope to hear your comments and no, they were not cheap, the 3 of them were close to 4K

greetings

Dolvo, your gun was made in Switzerland OK, but not BY Oerlikon but IN Oerlikon, which is a city, the ASAI 's company address-Oerlikon is a city very near Zurich, just a couple of train stations, say 6 minutes from downtown Zurich-Apparently ASA(Advanced Small Arms Institute), went out of business sometime ago-Very nice pistols, enjoy-

Pity you don’t have a comparison photo side by side with a 1930s era PPK, which I consider the best made of the PPKs.

A 9mm pistol smaller than a 32 ACP PPK is a considerable achievement, and if the ASAI pistols are as accurate and quick shooting, then the price paid is certainly worth it. I assume the ASAI system employs some sort of gas-delay fixed barrel frame blowback H&K P7 type system to reduce recoil. Are they DA/SA, DAO, or something else? Is the loaded chamber indicator the extractor, or is it something more visible and tactile like on the PPK? How often do the springs have to be changed? On the Rorhbaugh it is every 200 rounds and the Rorhbaugh takedown is not that easy either. Is the takedown on the ASAI pistols a simple, quick, no-tools-needed affair?

Are they like the PPK, that is, an all day shooter? A range report would be much appreciated.

Congratulations on the acquisition of a rare high quality handgun, look forward to hearing more about the ASAI pistols in both 9mm and 45 ACP variants.

It takes the same magazine as the EAA Witness made by Tanfoglio. Mecgar's are the best.

Mine has never given me problems. My guess is that you are bumping the slide stop lever. The only problem I have ever heard about these is the slide stop breaking, but that seems to have been worked out (and would not cause your problem in any case).
