Any idea what years Numrich / Gun Parts Corp imported milsurps?

I just purchased a really nice 24/47 from Empire Arms and it appears to be in the original mauser marked and 24/47 labeled import box. all the accessory goodies and an info booklet with instructions, safety info, and warranty card. Gun parts Corp address is in the book and very subtly on the barrel.
The rifle is still in cosmoline and looks untouched since refurbed. Another very well described rifle from Empire Arms.

Just curious around what years they imported?

Lastly, is there a way to date original manufacture or the refurb date?

I cannot tell you the years imported, I don't think anyone can but their hands on one that one with one exception. If you can determine the original importer based on the markings, contact the importer with the serial number (if they provided one at the time of marking). I did the same with my Type 56 SKS that I purchased in 1991-92, contacted Century and they provided the month of import (5/91). I just added the email from them to my records (since the SKS was not purchased under my C&R at the time).

I too purchased a M24/47 recently (and three other Yugoslavian Mausers) from Empire Arms and could not be happier with the level of service and the quality of the items. Dennis has a real eye for the good stuff for sure.

i have many of their catalogs + ads in many magazines going back to the 50's + i see none listing any milsurps - when they allowed public into the retail store going back years they had them for sale , but i have no way of telling if they were imported or purchased from an importer - if imported post 1968 they would have the required permanent importer stamping either on barrel or receiver depending on date of import - IIRC the receiver stamping requirement started post 1990 -

You might try reaching out to Dennis Kroh at Empire Arms regarding GPC imported rifles. He is, or was a member here on the forum (member name-kroh) Guys like him know the industry. My info is second hand from old time gunshop owners that told me they bought complete surplus rifles from Numrich in years gone by. It was my understanding that GPC/Numrich purchased parts and complete firearms from numerous sources as well as importing parts and firearms from abroad. The GPC import stamp should indicate they imported at least some number of rifles in more recent years.

edit-For what it's worth here are a couple threads on GPC imported surplus pistols being sold on Gunbroker a few years ago...

Most of what I've seen as GPC import marked have been Yugoslav Mausers, M24/47 and M48 and have heard of a K98k GPC import. Several years ago I purchased a non-import marked Yugoslav M-48 that was a bolt and floorplate mismatched rifle for cheap. It was caked in cosmoline under the wood like yours. The shop owner told me he got it from Numrich, but no proof of that due to lack of import stamp.
