I wouldn't use it in an FN49, and here's why. Machine gun shooters have had much trouble w/ this ammo w/ head failures. the primers are a minor issue compared to this. I know the owner of Ammo Bros. gun store here in CA. He want shooting w/ this ammo, and blam, case failure, and broken stock. On the k98 forum you will see an old post where a guy cracked his receiver on his G/k43 w/ this ammo. It isn't the years, but case lots that were bad. I shot a lot of it through bolt guns, and no problem. However a simple search will bring out bad juju w/ 53 to 55 lots. Off the top of my head don't remember which were the bad ones, but here they would have been condemned. In Yugoslavia they just surplused it out to us as shooting ammo. Case head failures release heavy amounts of pressure, throw pieces of brass at you, and can make your day rather crappy.
